Translation of questionnaires

The service of Webanketa offers you a unique possibility of translating your questionnaire. If is very helpful for users speaking different languages.
1The choice of a language from which you have to translate

To start translating a questionnaire you have already created click on Bookmark “Translations”.

In the left-hand list “Translate/Edit”, select a language from which you have to translate or correct your translations.

By default, a language in which you have created a questionnaire will be selected. It will also contain all your translations you have added up.

In the right-hand list, choose a desired language of translation.

In the right-hand list, select “Translate to” a language to which you have to translate or a translation which you'll have to correct.

By default, a language you have used to form a questionnaire will be selected. This language will let you translate all system messages (e.g. error messages – this field is obligatory) and questionnaire buttons if we have no translation in your language.

Press the button “Start Translating”.

3Translation of questionnaire

Complete translation of all elements in your questionnaire in the right-hand fields. You can also change a language from which you translate.

Press the button “Save changes” (press the button “Save changes” each time before changing a language).

It is very important to note that after saving a translation it will not automatically appear for the respondent until you have activated it.

4Control of translations

To control translations, you have to click on Bookmark “Translations”.

Using the right-hand column you can control translations already added.

The first thing to do to make a translation accessible to the respondents is to press the link “Translation not yet completed”. The confirmation window will appear. Press “OK” to see a green-coloured circle beside the link which shows that the language is active.

To remove the translation, press the red-coloured cross opposite the translation and confirm the removal.

There is also an option to change the order of priority of languages. Use “up” and “down” arrows.
